The UK Branch of ERGO Reiseversicherung AG(ETI) transferred its business to Great Lakes Insurance SE during 2020 and terminated all insurance distribution activities on 31 December 2020.
ETI ceased writing insurance in the Republic of Ireland in May 2018 and in the United Kingdom in December 2020.
To conduct run-off activities the Branch operates under the Financial Conduct Authorities Supervised Run-Off (SRO) regime.
In accordance with Branch is in the process of applying to Financial Conduct Authority Principle 11 (relations with regulators) and general notification requirements (SUP 15.3.1 R FCA Handbook – SUP 15.3 General notification requirements), which require the immediate notification of any significant change to a firm’s organisation or business operating environment, the Branch is seeking regulatory confirmation and approval for closure.
